Do I have to register my domain name with you to use your service?
No. You can register your domain name with any one of the domain registars that are available on the net. We have no requirements to use our registration service.

How long does it take to set up a new account?
In order to prevent abuse we process every order by hand. Orders will generally be processed by us as soon as they are received and are usually set up within 8 hours on a business day (Monday-Friday, 8am -5pm Eastern time). Web hosting transfers are set up within the 8-hour period, but it takes 24-72 hours for a transferred website to start showing up in its new location on the Web.

What kind of technical support do you offer?
You can call (828) 891-2563 for tech support during regular business hours, usually 9am - 5pm weekdays but we often answer at other times as well. If you call that number after hours or at a time we are unavailable, please leave a message. We will get back with you quickly in the case of an emergency such as a site being down, but answer other calls at a slower rate on weekends and evenings. We also have an online trouble ticket system accessible through your control panel, and online support for your Control Panel here.

Do you allow spamming, Opt-in e-mailing or bulk mailing?
We do not allow spamming under any circumstances. If it is brought to our attention that spamming has occurred, we will terminate the account immediately. It doesn't matter if you use our mail servers to spam or if you hire a company to do it for you. First violations will result in a Cleanup Fee of $250 and the customer’s account will be reviewed for possible immediate termination. A second violation will result in Cleanup Fee of $500 and immediate termination of the customer’s account. The Customer who violates this policy agrees to also pay Investigation Fees of no more than $125 per hour that Toner Design personnel must spend to investigate any violations.

The email section of your Control Panel offers a mailing list option with opt-in emailing. If you choose to use this or maintain an email list using other software utilizing our servers, the list must be set up as opt-in, and you must notify us of your intention to use a mailing list. If you do not notify us that you have installed a mailing list, we will have to treat it as spamming and penalize you as above.

Do you allow adult-orientated web sites?
No, Toner Design does not allow the placement on our Webspace of any sexually explicit materials, whether they be in graphical, textual, video, sound, encrypted, protected, proprietary or any other formats. While we are committed to the protection of the free speech of our clients, we cannot permit sexually explicit material on our Webspace for many reasons. We object to the hosting of adult content for the logistical problems that it would entail, i.e. greatly fluctuating bandwidth, security problems and legal considerations. Adult sites can place unexpected and greatly varying demands upon the host's dedicated Web server thus jeopardizing the security of all other Virtual Web Server accounts hosted on that server. Toner Design has also partnered with many companies which won't allow partners to host adult sites. Please read our Acceptable Use policy, found here.

Do you accept international orders?
No. We do not accept any orders from outside the continental U.S.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept money orders, checks and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express). We also accept Paypal.

How does the billing process work?
  • If you choose a yearly payment plan, you must pay by check or money order as our merchant account will not permit charges for any time period greater than one month.
  • If you choose monthly billing, payment can be made can be done by check, money order or credit card.
  • If you choose a credit card, each month we will deduct the agreed-upon sum for our services from the credit card you choose.
  • Our online billing system will send you an invoice when your account is due, for this reason your email address must be kept up to date or your site may be shut down for non-payment.
  • Payment is expected within 10 business days of the online invoice.
  • You may request invoice billing to be sent by USPS, payment is due upon receipt for mailed invoices.
Is there a minimum contract?
No. We do not lock you into any long-term contract. You can pay month to month, or if you wish to save extra money, you can pay yearly and receive a 20% discount. You may always cancel your account at any time; however, all hosting payments are non-refundable.

What is your return policy?
Web hosting fees are non-refundable! Please choose your plan carefully, or call us for assistance in choosing the best hosting plan for your website. If you wish to cancel your hosting account with us, we must be notified at least 7days, but no more than 30 days, prior to the expiration of your current hosting period. If you do not provide this notice you will be charged the next period's (non-refundable) rate.

Can we buy a lower priced plan now and upgrade anytime later?
Yes. We often suggest that our customers start with the lowest-priced plan, then upgrade later when their needs are greater. You are free to upgrade plans any time you wish. If you buy a plan for a yearly rate and decide to upgrade later, you will only be billed the pro-rated difference in price. We do not charge Upgrade Fees.

Does Toner Design offer a way to check mail online, from anywhere in the world?
Yes. All accounts come with free Webmail. It is this feature that allows you to check mail online. This is just like Hotmail or Yahoo mail, except with your domain.
